During the month of September 4 blog posts were published. These were written previously otherwise they would not have been published.
With the birth of my second baby my content was primarily focused on the early stages with a newborn and postpartum period.
I felt like they were searchable articles and also extremely helpful for new moms.
Users & Pageviews
I have suffered a huge setback on Pinterest. This has dropped my traffic to basically none. The amazing thing is though I have terrible pageviews and number of users, but some of my other numbers are better, such as pages/session and number of sessions/user. This means the people that are viewing my content are truly interested in it. Essentially I am getting quality views rather than a large quantity of views.
Do I want higher numbers of views? Absolutely
For now I am trying to see the positive.
This is also reflected in my Google Search Console stats. If I look there I don’t see a significant dip at all.
Pinterest Impressions
I have experienced a Pinterest disaster. Last month my traffic completely tanked. I went from averaging about 40K impressions to dropping to 3K impressions. I contacted Pinterest to try to get help and got nowhere with them.
During the month I shifted my time and priorities and have quit publishing pins temporarily. I am honestly not sure if I need to start over with a fresh account. For now I am stepping back and taking a break. I want to put time into improving my business and Pinterest is currently doing nothing for my business.
Email Subscribers
My email subscribers are once again stalled at 5. With little traffic comes little opportunity to gain email subscribers.
Income
$0
I need to increase my earning potential with my blog. I know that making money would be very motivating. Right now affiliates are my best opportunity. I have a digital product on my site, but have yet to make a sale.
I have dabbled with Ezoic ads on my site, but have struggled to get tech support from them to help. The ads were on for a while and then went off. Have have my setup somewhere between 75% and 95% complete but can’t quite get the last bit done. I gave up out of frustration, but should get back on it. even if my ads income is small it could be very motivating.
Expenses

This month I decided to finally purchase my first blogging course. In fact I purchased a bundle full of multiple courses, e-books, and templates.
I am working my way through the bundle and hoping to see an impact on my blog particularly with traffic.
I hope the decision to invest into my blog pays off.
I do realize with purchasing a bundle it is easy to get overwhelmed. I have set an order to which courses I want to do first and prioritize.
I will update at some point if I think the bundle was worth the purchase.
Goals
My major goal is to work through all the SEO resources in the month of October. I also want to implement what I learn. This means going back and optimizing old posts. I will not be able to make it through all my posts, but want to get the basics down and get myself setup to easily optimize the old posts with a system.
One of the resources is a 30 day course full of actionable steps. I am currently on day 6 and want to complete the 30 days while in October.
Strategy/Changes
I am making huge changes.
First off I decided to drop Pinterest for the time being.
Secondly I am drastically decreasing my content publishing. I have some pre-written content, so this will not immediately be obvious. I think this will take affect in January. I have been publishing new content every week and I will likely drop to every other week.
And finally I am going to put focus into other priorities such as improving SEO and promoting the content I have already published.
My content is not serving my audience or myself when it is not seen. Pinterest has clearly failed me so it is time to work on other avenues.
Sometimes you need to stop what you are doing and think about what your next move should be. I need to learn how to promote my content rather than continuing to run on the hamster wheel pushing out more content that will not be read.

I am still feeling very defeated about the drop in Pinterest traffic. I truly don’t know what I did wrong to have my account take such a significant plunge.
I am proud of myself for finally investing into courses to improve my blog. This was a big step for me. I have been trying to learn everything on my own and clearly it isn’t working. I am working my way through multiple courses, prioritizing where I should start. I am currently working through the SEO courses. They are the first priority.
I am feeling hopefully about using the information I learn from the courses to improve my blog and finally turn it into a business.
Conclusion
This was a big month full of evaluation, decisions, and changes.
I am trying to push past this stagnant place I have been in to move my business forward.
