Why I Will Continue to Blog Despite Making No Real Money

I am currently writing this during my 10th month blogging.

In fact, I now have two blogs I am running. Between both of them, I have earned a whopping $5.53.

But I don’t care.

I am going to continue blog and these are my reasons why.

Affordable

My blog is not yet a business, but more than a hobby. It is somewhere in between.

However, at the moment since it is not making me money I am thankful it is not costing me much to run. This venture is affordable. It has great potential and I hope to see that return in the future.

In total, I have spent $351.76. To some, I realize this may be a lot.

Part of this was hosting with Bluehost and part of this was purchasing a theme. If you are interested in signing up with Bluehost click my link to help me earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

The thing is I have been entertained and consumed with blogging for a year. If you spread that cost out it isn’t so bad.

If you want to see the exact numbers for blog #1 for both income and expense take a look, Curious How Much Income and Traffic You Can Earn with a First Year Blog.

I would like to note this report is only for blog #1. Blog #2 has expenses that go into the total I mentioned above.

Outlet

Blogging has been an outlet for me.

I work as a nanny and became a mom. Though these roles are rewarding and amazing they do not stimulate my brain enough.

I needed something to push myself to learn and grow. I also needed something that was mine.

When you have a child they can easily take over your life. I was no longer just Amanda. I was mom. And you don’t get to take a break from being a mom.

While working on my blog though I feel like Amanda completing a task, not mom on duty.

Starting my blog was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I truly believe that despite making less than $6 so far.

will i continue to blog

Passion

I am passionate about my mommy blog. https://www.momwifeandeverydaylife.com

When you become a parent you learn so much that first year. Giving out advice though can be controversial in your everyday life. Sometimes people don’t want to hear it or disagree with your views. You can come off as a know-it-all or like you are judging their choices.

Creating my blog is a place where people are seeking out information. I am not thrusting it upon anyone. They can be searching on their own.

This is the beauty of blogging.

I enjoy helping people.

This passion is translating to my other blog Blogging with Amanda.

https://www.bloggingwithamanda.com

I am excited about blogging and want to help others get a real picture of what blogging can look like.

Being honest with people feels good. Helping people feels good. The blogs I have created so far are things I am currently passionate about.

Stubborn

At this point I am stubborn. I am 10 months in on my first blog and 4 months in on my second. These blogs are still young. I am still new to blogging and have tons to learn.

I am being stubborn about my success. After how much work and time I have invested into my blogs I can’t quit. I just can’t.

I am up to around 100 articles total and over 1,000 pins created for Pinterest.  I have taken, downloaded, and compressed hundreds of images. I have invested too much to quit.

You can check out an article I wrote stating the hours I blogged during my early months, How Much Time Commitment Do You Need to Launch a New Blog?

And I want it.

I want to it work so bad.

I want to be able to work from home and have flexibility.

I don’t want to ask my boss for time off because my child is home sick. I want to be able to get my oil changed and go to the dentist in the middle of the afternoon.

I will be a successful blogger.

Learning

I didn’t realize how much I missed learning. School and specifically college were wonderful times in my life. But then I went to work as a nanny because it was easy. I was scared to get a big-girl job and fail.

But I never realized how much I missed the mental stimulation of learning.

I am constantly taking on more tasks with my blogs and learning along the way.

I love it!

Conclusion

I am being stubborn.

I believe I will get there.

My time will come.

I have no intentions, despite my lack of income, to quit blogging.
