Published Posts

During the month of February 4 posts went live. I did however work extremely hard to batch content and have already scheduled posts to publish through all of March and half of April.

I am pushing myself to get ahead on content so I can focus on other blogging tasks to move the business forward. I am extremely satisfied with what I accomplished this month!

Users & Pageviews

Most of my numbers dropped from January. January I simply had a few viral pins that skyrocketed my numbers.

I will say if I compare February to December I saw strong growth. I used to go crazy for 20 visitors in a day. Now that is about where a low day falls. Almost every day makes it to 20 or more visitors. You can check out my screenshots for users, pageviews, and then google search console.

Pinterest Impressions

My Pinterest numbers were down from January to February. As I mentioned previously, January was a crazy good month on Pinterest.

I saw improvement from December though so I am happy with that. I feel that after a viral pin or two your stats drop down of course as they should. But typically you land higher than where you previously were averaging. Those viral pins do help you get boosted up.

First, you can check out my stats for February and as well as my top pins.

The screenshot below is a wider date range of about 6 months. It is not an exact science but at times you can see where a viral pin can boost your average impressions. Notice how after the red circle it is a bit higher than it was before the red circle.

Another tip to see if you are making progress is just follow one of the chart lines or create your own line. Pay attention to how far below that line you are and how far above you get on average. This is a great way to see progress. Notice how things really start to move up at the arrow in the picture below.

I created the green line to give you a better visual. Before the arrow I am often below the line after the arrow I am primarily above the green line. Sometimes until you look closely you miss that you are truly making progress.

Email Subscribers

I am thrilled to say I got my first email subscriber this month!!!

This was so exciting!!!

The person signed up because they wanted a PDF related to tracking your baby’s feedings and bowel movements.

This tells me they are pregnant or have a newborn.

I have not emailed them anything yet, except of course the automated freebie they received. I am thinking of sending them an email with links to articles that may pertain to them.

I first have to figure out how to create emails that aren’t sent from subscribe forms, but more in a newsletter template.

I am thrilled with myself and finally getting going on building my email list!

My goal for Q1 is to have 5 people subscribe to my email list. Hopefully, I can get 4 more in March with the work I did this month.

I worked extremely hard this month on creating and placing forms with a freebie and opt-in to become an email subscriber.

In the past, I have been intimidated by Convertkit and finally think I have a strong understanding of at least forms and getting them placed into articles. I placed around 20 forms into articles. Some of these freebies are specifically designed for only one article, while others are more general and can be used in multiple articles.

At first, I started off with the single freebies, and then I realized how much time I was killing. Creating one good PDF freebie and placing it into multiple posts where it applies is a huge time saver.

It will also help get the same type of subscribers because they are interested in the same PDF. You need to know what your subscribers are interested in to eventually sell to them.

If I create a freebie related to cleaning your home, potty training a toddler, and packing for the hospital my subscribers are clearly interested in different things. This makes it more difficult to sell a single product to all of those subscribers.

If instead, I put the hospital packing list into a bunch of articles related to pregnancy I have a list full of soon-to-be moms. They are more likely to be interested in the same things.

Building my email list and putting work into doing so has been the theme of this month. I am proud of making progress in a new area of my business.

Income

My only two income sources are Amazon Affiliates and Ezoic Ads at this point.

As far as Amazon, I have one ordered item at the end of the month that income will go onto March’s income report if I get any. Based on the information I can see it looks like the purchase may be for a gift card which I do not believe earns me a commission. I guess I will find out in a few days. February is zero income from Amazon.

Amazon

As for Ezoic ads I made…$3.45 for the month of February.

Ezoic

I am honestly not sure how I feel about placing ads that earn me so little. Is it worth it to see income every month for motivation or is the little number soul-crushing instead? I am not sure how I feel about it. I am trying to view it as some income is better than none and that any money I make helps dig me out of the hole from my initial investment.

Any money earned could also be invested back into my blogging business in the future. It is however difficult to see such small numbers. It makes me question if I will ever have even a hundred dollar month or a thousand dollar month. It just doesn’t seem possible at this point.

I am still pushing forward though!

I would also like to make note, because I have failed to do so in the past. I have received zero dollars over these 14 months of blogging. I have yet to hit a payout threshold. Right now, I am tracking when income is earned, not received.

Expenses

This month I did not have any blogging expenses.

Goals

I would like to hit my Q1 goals.

Here they are…

Content CreationPromotionTrafficProductsIncome
1 Article per Week (Wed)Pinterest 5 Pins Daily1000 Pageview MonthNone
Start Brainstorming Ideas
$50 Total for Q1
Ads Affiliates
Constant Pin CreationStart Gathering Email Subscribers (5 Subs)60 K Impression Pinterest Month
20 PDFs in Posts

I need to acquire 4 more email subscribers.

My income for January was $5.05 and February came in at $3.45 so I am at a total of $8.50.

I need to hit $50 in income for Q1 which means I need to earn $41.50 in March.

Those are the only two goals let to complete for Q1.

I believe I did everything I could to acquire email subscribers. I worked very hard in February to create email opt-ins and lay what I consider a strong foundation. Hopefully, in March I will reap the rewards of the work I put in.

I am very unsure about hitting my monetary goal. At this point, my only hope is significantly more traffic. More traffic equals more ad revenue. More traffic equals the potential for more Amazon clicks and purchases. It is a looooong shot!

Strategy/Changes

I tried to boost my Pinterest impressions a bit by claiming my website on my Pinterest account, updating my profile, and creating 4 new boards.

If you want to learn more about claiming your website check out, Claim Your Website with Pinterest Business Accounts in Only a Few Easy Steps.

I worked on building my email list by creating freebie email opt-ins. This was a new and huge task for me to conquer.

For the most part, though I am staying consistent in my strategies for content and Pinterest.

Feelings

I am feeling good overall. Nearly all of my Q1 goals are complete. February numbers were down from January, but that was simply because January had viral pins that gave me crazy numbers. February stilled showed good growth if you compare it to December.

I feel like I am going strong with this blogging journey. I really dove into email opt-ins this month and am hoping to see where it takes me.

I am pushing myself to get ahead on the tasks I find simple so I can tackle the tasks I find complicated or intimidating. I believe I am pushing myself.

I am proud of this month and what I have accomplished.

During February I was definitely still riding the high of a new year and new beginnings.

I am feeling passionate about blogging.

Conclusion

February was a solid month. It wasn’t as strong as January, but it was still good.

I completed tasks that I previously struggled with.

I got my first email subscribers which was a miracle.

I worked hard this month putting in about 80 hours of work with this currently as a side hustle.

I am proud of myself and the work I have completed.

Stay tuned to see how 2022 shakes out. I feel like it is going to be good!
