Published Posts, Users, & Pageviews
I’m just going to jump right into it. My pageviews and users were complete junk because once again Pinterest completely dropped me. My account has to be marked or flagged with spam somehow.
Almost every day I had very few visitors.
Last month I dabbled with linking posts on Reddit. I didn’t give as much time to Reddit this month as I did in May. However, On June 18th I have a HUGE spike in traffic. I had 337 pageviews that one day. I think one of my Reddit links went crazy. Maybe someone shared it. I honestly can’t figure out exactly where and what happened. I would also like to note that the Average View Duration was 5:39 which is quite long!
The article that went “viral” for me was The 4 Stages of Breastfeeding and How It Gets Easier Over Time.
Typically, breastfeeding content is easy to post on Reddit. A lot of moms are out there asking for help and advice. I filter typically by breastfeeding and posts within the last 24 hours.
You can see below my huge spike in traffic.
Pinterest Impressions
Pinterest clearly does not care about me.
My account has completely tanked for whatever reason. I only pin my own content right now because last time they dropped me I thought it was because I repined some spam from another account.
It is extremely frustrating to see my traffic drop to basically none overnight. This is why I am literally going into Reddit and answering questions while providing links. I want to take more control. I am also publishing my content via other social medias. Pinterest has gone down the drain lately in my world.
I am still posting 1 new pin per day. I don’t want to invest more time into it, but also don’t want to give up completely on potentially great traffic.
Hopefully my account recovers. I appreciate that traffic when I get it, but clearly cannot rely on it.
Email Subscribers
I am sending out 1 email per month to my subscribers promoting about 4 article links, that way hopefully one will apply to them or the season of life they are in.
My June broadcast got 50% opens including my own.
Nothing amazing here. Just trying to keep my subscribers coming back to my content. I don’t want them to forget about me. I would love for them to be return visitors.
In June I gained 3 new subscribers all from Breastfeeding Tips, Tricks, and Reminders. I have been linking a lot of breastfeeding tips and articles on Reddit so that is likely where they came from.
Income
In June I made MONEY!!!!
I know it wasn’t much, but I just really want to make an income from all this content I am producing. Any bit of progress is exciting. So far 3/6 months I have made some money from Amazon Affiliates.

This month some domains needed to be renewed totally $69.99.
Goals
To put it simple my goal is to increase traffic and income.
I am working to increase traffic by pushing my content on to all the social media platforms I can handle: Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. I am also linking content on Reddit forums.
I also need to increase my monetization methods. I really want to get ads on my website. I know they are not pretty, but it would be nice to get income when I get pageviews. It gives me more motivation to get pageviews. I am having technical difficulties doing so, which is incredibly frustrating.
Right now my pageviews don’t actually mean anything. They equate to a stronger likelihood for Amazon links and purchases, but they have no direct correlation.
Strategy/Changes
June was a month of preparing for July. On July 3rd I launch my first long form YouTube video.
I have been doing Shorts for a few months now. The first few long videos I have created are under or around 5 minutes. They are not like 20 minute videos. I am still excited and nervous to move forward with long videos.
YouTube could be my next form of monetization. I have affiliate links for products I recommend in the description of all my videos. I would love to get the views and subscribers necessary to get ads on my videos and make income there.
I was doing a YouTube short every other day the past couple of months. For July, I am changing to 2 long videos and 2 short videos per week.
I am excited to move forward on my YouTube journey. It was nerve wracking showing my face at first, but if I am going to do it on IG and FB I might as well on YouTube where there is earning potential.
Feelings
I feel excited about YouTube. I feel frustrated about Pinterest. I feel hopeful about making some income this month.
Conclusion
Every month I keep thinking this is where the snowball will really start rolling. I keep working and pushing forward waiting for that momentum to take off. I had a spike this month on users. I saw a post somehow go “viral” this lets me know what is possible.
I am excited to report on next month with a full month of YouTube long and short content.
