Published Posts
I was able to barely stay on schedule and push out 4 new posts this month. I was not ahead really at all and just barely getting them published in time. I most definitely prefer to be ahead on my posts and schedule them in advance. Life has gotten busy though with a second child.
Three of the posts were mommy and newborn focused. The fourth was about the Upside App which I hope will do well. I need to go back in the near future and become an affiliate with Upside.
Users & Pageviews
My Pinterest account has started to rebound which is significantly helping my pageviews bounce back. This is great for moral! I need to know my content is getting to people and hopefully helping them with whatever struggles they face.
Just to be clear I have still not published any pins. The rebound of my account is happening on it’s own.
Last month both users and pageviews were under 100 which were devastating. Let’s hope we can continue to see growth into the next few months. You can see where the rebound started happening in the image below.
Pinterest Impressions
My Pinterest Impressions are making a comeback. The first picture is just the month of October. The second picture is the past 3 months. And the third picture is the past 6 months.
You can see my account was doing fine overall. Then one day it completely tanked. I wasn’t able to fix it. I tried contacting Pinterest support and got nowhere. For a few days I continued to make pins daily, as I had been doing. But after seeing no progress I decided to take a break from Pinterest. I have no published a single pin in October and my account has been on the rise.
I do not know when I will start pinning again, but I will be pinning very little probably. I am thinking about pinning on new URL each week as well as one or two old URLs.
I want to see how high my account will rebound. When it starts to drop or plateau I will definitely start pinning. If I find time I may even do so earlier.
This experience with Pinterest once again highlights that we are not in control of our social media traffic. You need to put efforts into SEO and email marketing. You should diversify where possible too. Pinterest was my only social media source of traffic. This was a mistake.
Email Subscribers
I did not gain any new email subscribers. With lower traffic than normal this isn’t terribly surviving, but I would like to gain more for sure.
Like I pointed out from my Pinterest experience it is important to gain control over your traffic.
Income
$0
I did not make any money in October. Hopefully I will see better traffic in November and December and see some purchases through my links.
Expenses
$0
I did not purchase anything for my blog this month.
Goals
Last month I purchased a blogging bundle of courses. My goals are to work through these courses and apply what I learn. I have been mediocre at best with my follow through.
Strategy/Changes
I am going to continue to hold off on Pinterest for now. In the near future I could decide it is time to start publishing pins again.
Honestly I don’t have much strategy because with a little baby at home I am struggling to make time to blog. I guess one of my strategies moving forward is to start waking up early to spend time blogging.
I did this when I first started blogging and I think it is time to get back to that level of discipline.

I am feeling really good about my traffic bouncing back via my Pinterest account bouncing back. It was a much needed boost in moral.
I am feeling exciting about the New Year coming up soon. I love goal setting and planning for the future.
I am feeling a bit refreshed after slowing down on parts of my blog and somewhat taking a break.
Conclusion
I am ready to see what November brings. Hopefully my numbers continue to bounce back and with that my energy, passion, and focus bounce back too.
