My Blogging Experience

I want to give a quick background of where I am as a new blogger. When I am writing this post I am 12 months into blogging. However, the notes I have from this day-in-the-life blogging are from month 5. The journal entries are written from the point of view of 5 months in, while now I have a clearer picture of what my first year blogging looks like in totality.

This is my first ever blog. I have no real tech experience or writing experience. I am simply learning along the way. I should also note that I am learning via free resources and have not chosen to invest in a course.

Why I am Sharing a Day in the Life

During my blogging journey, I have made an effort to take notes along the way. Things I have tracked include daily tasks, hours worked, and goals reached. I do not track everything perfectly, but I want to be able to look back at where I was and how far I have come.

It is important to see progress, especially when you are in a rut.

The only way to see progress is to track the early phases and struggles.

May 20th

This is a specific day that I journaled what I was feeling. It tracked where I was with content and my ideas for the future. I also noted how I was feeling lost at times. I didn’t know which task to prioritize to move my blog forward.

Take a look at my thoughts while 5 months into my blogging journey.

The Ups and Downs of Blogging

Blogging comes with highs and lows. It is not always great. My main key is to not let my feelings and emotions dictate what I do. Every day I have pins being published to Pinterest. I work to schedule posts to be published ahead of time whenever possible.

I tell myself work has to be done and done on time. I don’t give myself an option.

You read my thoughts. I was definitely not feeling positive about blogging. That was month 5 and look I am still going in month 12.

This is because I am dedicated. I don’t think I will ever come to the conclusion my blog is a failure. I think I will continue to pursue it and move forward. It is not a failure. I just need to try a different strategy.

I am going to be a successful blogger despite the bad days.

Conclusion

I hope this day-in-the-life gave you an inside glance at the struggle. You saw real thoughts I expressed at the time. Know you are not alone in your thoughts and worries.

They are real and valid.

Just remember you are not alone.

Blogging is rough, but it is a great community.
