Published Posts

I got 4 posts published in May. I am proud that I continue to stay on schedule with my publishing and sharing of information. I am continuing to work on getting further ahead on my publishing to prepare for my upcoming baby.

I am trying to publish content that I want to share, while also making an effort to publish content that people are searching for.

Users & Pageviews

Overall my users and pageviews are down. May was my first month under 1000 pageviews this year, which is a total bummer. I really wanted to stay above 1000 pageviews per month once I hit it.

Google Analytics

One article that is interesting is one I wrote last year about Baby’s First Day Boating.

With May we are heading into warmer weather in the US and people are ready to get on the water. You can see May’s pageviews for this specific article below.

Google Analytics

Last summer it hit #9 and #10 spots of my top articles. This month it hit the #3 spot. I am going to keep watching this article for the next 4 or so months to see how it continues to perform.

Below you can see my top articles for May.

Google Analytics

As far as Google Search Console my total clicks were up, but my total impressions were down. My average CTR is up and my average position went down. I believe a lower number is better for average position so that’s a good thing.

Google Search Console

Pinterest Impressions

As far as Pinterest my impressions and total audience were up, but my engagements were down. Pinterest was relatively steady for May.

It would be nice to see some spikes from viral pins. My account could use some fuel for growth.

Pinterest Impressions

Email Subscribers

I gained 2 subscribers. I now have 5 total email subscribers. The 2 gained were from toddle weekly encouragement checklist.

I am happy to continue to see growth with my email list, even if it is slow.

Income

I did not make any money this month blogging. I had a decent amount of Amazon clicks, but nothing converted into purchases.

As you can see there is a day with a spike in clicks. For a second I was excited to see this, but then I realized most of those clicks were from myself. I went to the library to take a look at my site and test links from the view of a reader. I like to do this sometimes.

Expenses

I did not have any expenses this month.

Goals

Goals I had for May were to get ahead on content. I made it through June. During June I will hopefully push through and continue working to get ahead on content. The first week of June I hope to get out all of July’s content.

I was also going to launch my first digital product. I simply didn’t give it any time this month.

I am disappointed in this because most of my goals regarding pinning and publishing content I manage to keep on schedule. When you accept failure of one goal it is easy it accept more with other goals.

Looking forward to June I am just going to continue to keep pushing forward. I want to get ahead on content, I want to get as many pins prepared in advance as possible, and I want to get my digital product launched.

I am concerned about launching the product. It is completely new territory for me. I want to do it though. I am also slightly worried about what it will do to my motivation if it isn’t successful. I am not making much progress with my blog currently and don’t want more disappointment.

Strategy/Changes

I don’t have immediate plans to change much. Launching my product I guess would be a new monetization strategy.

I am struggling to keep up on creating fresh pins and descriptions. I am currently posting 3 new pins daily for both of my blogs. It is a lot to handle even with batch creating and publishing.

There is a good chance in the future I will need to drop this number down. However, I am concerned at how much lower I can go and still maintain or potentially see growth in my Pinterest account.

I am seriously considering going back to optimize old posts better for SEO. I am not seeing growth with my blog and don’t know what else to do.

Feelings

I don’t feel great about May. Overall I am not seeing much growth at all. I don’t mind seeing slow growth, but watching some of my numbers drop is so disappointing.  My numbers are down almost across the board.

I am seriously hoping this is because we are moving into summer and people are getting outside and off their electronics. I really hope in the fall I start to see numbers rising again.

Conclusion

June is going to be a crazy month with welcoming a new baby, but I hope that my time off work and home will allow me to keep up on my blog in general. I hope to see growth of course.
